Things To Do In Kalispell Montana

1. Visit the Conrad Mansion Museum

If someone was to ask me what the best things to do in Kalispell are, I would, without a doubt, say visiting the Conrad Mansion Museum.

The Conrad Mansion was built in 1895 by Charles E. Conrad, one of the founders of Kalispell. He lived in the mansion with his family until his death in 1902. After a few years, the mansion started to fall into disrepair until it was eventually restored in the 1970s.

Today, the Conrad Mansion Museum is one of the most famous attractions in Kalispell. You can take a guided tour of the mansion and see what life was like for the Conrad family, as well as learn about the history of Kalispell. You’ll also get to see some of the original furniture and art that was in the mansion, which is really cool.

I would say that the Conrad Mansion Museum is a must-visit for anyone spending time in Kalispell. It’s a great way to learn about the city’s history and see what life was like over 100 years ago. Admission to the Mansion is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors (65 and older), and $10 for children (ages 6-17).

Address: 330 Woodland Ave, Kalispell.

2. Visit Rails to Trails Park

Rails to Trails Park is an NGO that works to repurpose old railway tracks into trails for pedestrians and cyclists. And the Kalispell trail is one of the most popular in Montana.

Today, over 22 miles of converted railroad tracks have been turned into paved walking and biking trail. These networks of trails are interconnected and take you to some of the best sights in Kalispell. The best part is that the trail is relatively flat, making it perfect for all skill levels.

I spent an afternoon exploring the Rails to Trails Park, and I can see why it’s such a popular attraction in Kalispell. I loved how there were so many different things to see and do along the way. I stopped at a few playgrounds, picnicked at one of the many parks, and even did a little shopping in Downtown Kalispell.

So if you’re looking for the best things to do in Kalispell that will get you outdoors and active, then make sure to add Rails to Trails Park to your list.

3. Learn about Kalispell’s History at the Northwest Montana History Museum

The Northwest Montana History Museum is a local history museum that is housed in an old school building. The school was built in 1895 and served until 1969.

Today, the museum chronicle the history of Kalispell, Flathead Valley, and the people who have lived here. It features photos, artifacts, and stories that paint a picture of what life was like in the early days of Kalispell. One of the things that I found most interesting about the museum was the exhibit on the Great Northern Railway. This railroad played a big role in the development of Kalispell and the Flathead Valley.

If you want to learn more about the history of Kalispell, take a guided tour of the museum, which is offered from Mon-Fri.
