In order to confuse the spirits, she started construction on a house in San Jose, which she never stopped working on.

As a result, the Winchester Mystery House is a massive 160-room Victorian mansion with all sorts of oddities, like staircases leading nowhere and doors that open to walls.

35. Enjoy San Jose Nightlife

When the Sun goes down, San Jose comes alive. And like most major cities, there are a lot of things to do in downtown San Jose after dark.

From cocktails bars and pubs to live music and nightclubs. Most of the action takes place around San Pedro Square and the SoFA district south of Market Street.

Start your night at San Pedro Square Market, a food hall with over 20 different vendors ranging from Indian cuisine to wood-fired pizza.

Once you’ve had your fill, walk over to Gordon Biersch Brewing Company for a few beers brewed on-site.

For live music, check out The Ritz. And if you want to dance the night away, head to Loft Bar & Bistro, Pure Nightclub, or Temple Nightclub.

No matter what you’re looking for, there’s sure to be something to do in San Jose after dark.
